Hey, how's it goin? I'm Jon Sullivan, or as most people call me, Sully.

Sully and the Chicago Flag Raven (as featured in an article on WBEZ.org - click the pic to check out the article!I started playing guitar at a young age; I was compelled after seeing a picture of Ace Frehley in 16 magazine when I was just a kid. Seeing him lean back with smoke pouring from his Les Paul was quite an image for a young boy; It was the coolest thing I had ever seen, and I had to play guitar immediately. Some years later, a friend played Ozzy’s Diary of a Madman album for me, and I was floored by the amazing guitar playing. Randy Rhoads was my next largest influence, and learning to play his work has remained quite an education.

I got my first good electric (a 1983 BC Rich NJ Warlock) at 15, and did my first pickup swap on it out of necessity. I’ve been working on guitars in one form or another since then. I learned a lot from my guitar teacher, Steve Harnack. He owns Park Avenue Guitarz in Lombard, IL, and he built me my first custom guitar when I was 16, Soon after, I quickly became hooked on the custom feel. Added years later to my list of heroes would be Grover Jackson (who, to me, is the Leo Fender and Ted McCarty of my generation) and Mike Shannon, Jackson Master builder.  I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet and talk about guitar building with the men who built guitars for many of my idols.

What I can offer you are guitars that come from the heart. I get a rush every time the router powers up, and I'm wide-eyed like a kid when each guitar is finished. I’d love to share that same joy with you.
